Carnival in Nice is one of the oldest extant carnivals in the world, coming to Nice in the second half of February. The first mention of the carnival dates back to 1294. Today, the carnival lasts two weeks.
On the first day of the celebration, participants and spectators meet His Majesty Carnival, and in the evening they choose the queen of the holiday. One of the brightest events of the holiday is the parade of platforms, decorated in accordance with the theme of the carnival, which changes every year. The flower battle is the second most important event, during which parade participants and spectators shower each other with tons of flowers.
Nearly a million people visit the Nice Carnival each year and, along with the Lemon Festival, is one of the biggest celebrations on the French Riviera.

The queen of the French Riviera, luxurious Nice is always full of tourists - millions of people from all over the world seek to spend their holidays on the Cote d'Azur.
