From the railway station to the city center stretches the long Avenue Feucher (Avenue Feuchè res). It was founded in 1842 and designed as a "beautiful entrance" to Nî mes. At the same time, the Mayor's Office ordered that any project for the construction or reconstruction of buildings that overlook the avenue be coordinated with the city authorities. This managed to achieve a unified architectural style of building. The avenue is named after Baron Feuchè res, who donated more than 50.
