Pont Alexandre III

Pont Alexandre III, Pont Alexandre 3
France, Paris
Pont Alexandre III is considered one of the most elegant in Paris. It was built in the Beaux Arts style and is decorated with numerous sculptures, columns and lanterns. The bridge spans the Seine and connects Champs Elysees and Invalides. For a structure 160 meters long and 40 wide, the bridge has a very low height - no more than 6 meters. This is due to the desire not to close the view of the Champs Elysees.

Russian Emperor Nicholas II laid the bridge in 1896 and named it after his father. This gift marked the conclusion of the Franco-Russian alliance and symbolized the friendship of the two states. The bridge was rebuilt in 4 years and opened for the 1900 World's Fair. In 1975, it was taken under state protection as a monument of history and architecture.

This is the most elegant bridge in Paris, it is enveloped in an aura of positive and goodwill. Numerous figures of angels, nymphs and pegasi amaze with their extraordinary beauty, this is a unique building in its beauty in the genre of new art. The bridge is beautiful at any time of the year and in any weather, but it is especially magnificent in the rays of the bright sun. Surprisingly, it was built in just three years, and the dates 1897 - 1900 are stamped on its plate. Be sure to include a walk along this bridge in your visit plan.
