The Church of Panagia Chrysospiliotissa is a three-nave domed basilica with a transept, narthex and upper premises. It was built on the site of a large ancient church, a basilica of small size. The church was designed by D. Zezos, and it began to exist in 1863, six years after his death under the leadership of P. Kalkos. After the death of Kalkos, the continuation of the work was entrusted to Ernest Ziller, but the church commissioners and parishioners did not accept the changes in the church project proposed by Ziller and entrusted the project to the measure of Athens and the civil engineer Dimitris Soutsos.→
