The clock tower was built in 1857 by Fethiye Pasha next to the Suleiman Mosque in the Old Town of Rhodes. It is located at the intersection of Socrates Street and Orpheus Street and the clock on the tower remains operational to this day. The ancient clock mechanism is considered one of the achievements of 19th century technology. Several dozen steep steps lead to the top of Pyrgos, from where a beautiful view of the Old Town of Rhodes opens.→
