The entrance courtyard has a khohlaki (pebble mosaic) floor, and in one corner stands the small circular mausoleum of Murat Reis, commander of the Turkish fleet during the siege of Rhodes in 1522. The cemetery has its own small forest of slender tombstones; the men's memorials are topped with turbans, the women's with simple stone blades. There are several domed tombs, one of which contains the remains of a Persian shah. The cemetery is neglected, which does not do the local authorities any credit.→
