Garden of Gethsemane

Garden of Gethsemane, Gethsemane
Israel, Jerusalem
Gethsemane is an area at the foot of the western slope of the Mount of Olives, in the Kidron Valley, east of the Old City of Jerusalem (in East Jerusalem), in Israel.

The Garden of Gethsemane is currently a small garden (47 x 50 m) in Gethsemane, traditionally revered as a place of prayer for Jesus Christ on the night of his arrest. Eight very ancient olives grow here, the age of which, according to some sources, exceeds 2000 years. In gospel times, this was the name of the entire valley lying at the foot of the Mount of Olives and the tomb of the Virgin.

In Christianity, the Garden of Gethsemane is revered as one of the places associated with the Passion of Christ, and is a place of Christian pilgrimage. Currently, there are several Christian churches in Gethsemane: the Church of All Nations, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Church of St. Mary Magdalene.

“I didn’t know the careless world, I didn’t know What's in Gethsemane tonight Christ decided his fate Accepting suffering for human sin" The Garden of Gethsemane is considered one of the best places for peace. Here you can pray, walk and think about the painful, concentrate on your next steps. There are tourists - Israel is completely littered with tourists, but for me personally, the atmosphere turned out to be completely conducive in order to tune in to the right wave. The Garden of Gethsemane keeps a whole history that cannot be erased.

I highly recommend visiting the Garden of Gethsemane! To get there, we traveled by bus and then walked. It's hard in the heat, but it's not far to go. The garden simply amazed us with its majestic trees! These thousand-year-old olives are so cared for, I have never seen anything like it in my life! The trees are so magnificent that it is difficult to describe in words that it is breathtaking, trunks with a diameter of more than 2 meters, it is even impossible to hug them (if they were not fenced)! There is also the Church of All Nations, where you can see the stone on which Jesus prayed before the execution, an amazing holy place.

Jerusalem is a special place. And each place associated with Biblical events is special in a special way. In my video https://youtu. be/NyB_4jXMrQ4 you can see probably all the Biblical places in Jerusalem, determine for yourself what you want to visit. Speaking of the Garden of Gethsemane, don't expect a huge and beautiful garden. We are talking about a very small area, people walk in a circle so as not to hurt each other. The trees are very old, and two trees are already 2000 years old. They may have been growing back in the time of Jesus.
