Raj Ghat is an honorary memorial located in the eponymous district in Delhi. The memorial was founded in 1948, after the death of the great leader of the Indian people, Mahatma Gandhi, as a sign of eternal memory and respect. Since then, the Raj Ghat has been the cremation site for prominent political figures in the country. Twice a year, thousands of pilgrims and government officials from all over the world gather here to commemorate the birthday and death of the "Great Soul" - Gandhi.
