Hawa Mahal or the Palace of the Winds got its name because of the special ventilation system created by many windows. This system is recognized as unique - in the palace, even in the heat, it is much cooler than in the whole city. And these windows also served as viewing windows - the wives of the maharaja did not have the right to show themselves to people, but they could freely observe through the windows everything that was happening outside the walls of the palace. The palace has never been used for life, people came here on holidays to watch performances. It is inconvenient to take pictures of the palace from the street, so it is worth crossing through the busy traffic to the other side and going up to the cafe opposite - Wind View Cafe or Tatoo Cafe.
