Swimming daily in the ocean on Chapora beach, we watched the fort standing on the mountain. And then one day, waking up at 6 in the morning, having a quick sip of tea and coffee, packing a backpack, we decided to take this fort by storm. My wife previously read on the Internet that at the very end of Chapora beach there is an uphill path along which you can easily climb uphill to the fort. We went in search of this path.

In the morning, before the heat sets in, walking along the beach is a pleasure. But here is the end of it. And the people who before us tried to climb the rocks further along the coast come back without finding a way. It's time to look for a path. She was found. And about a quarter of the way is not as easy as it was written on the Internet, but still we climbed uphill along it. And then it became clear that this path leads to a hill adjacent to where the fort stands. Going down is much harder than going up.
Therefore, having a smoke break, looking at what we had already overcome, we nevertheless decided to continue the ascent, and there come what may. But fate turned out to be favorable to us: having overcome the rise, we found ourselves on a fairly wide and even road that led directly to the walls of the fort, which really stood on a neighboring hill. Moreover, there was even a passage in the wall through which we easily got inside the fort.

Morning. The sun is not hot. Not a soul around. And the views from the walls of the fort exceeded all our wildest expectations! Actually, besides these views, there is nothing special to see: dilapidated outer walls and the remains of the foundations of some buildings inside. But outside, there are fantastic views of the ocean with Chapora Beach, on the one hand, and the river delta, on the other hand. The river is wide! And it seems that the ocean surrounds the mountain from three sides ...
We could not even imagine going down the same way as we went up. Therefore, they were overjoyed when they found a gate on the opposite side of the fort. The road from the gate was also steep and dusty, but an order of magnitude easier than the one we overcame. And most importantly short. She took us as it always happens in places visited by tourists to the market. There were still few sellers there, and there were no buyers at all. Therefore, we asked the way to the fish market, which turned out to be not so far to go. But that is another story…
