Palazzo Ercolani - a great wake-up call in the style of rococo or neoclassicism in the historical center of Bologna, the School of Political Science of the University of Bologna has been redistributed at once. The palace in a lowly appearance was inspired in 1785 by the aristocrat Filippo Yercolani; architect buv Angelo Venturioli. If you want the faç ade to retain the excesses of neoclassicism, go and decorate it in the middle with similar ornaments in the styles of the late baroque and rococo. On the first version, there is a room, painted, imaginatively, with frescoes by Filippo Pedrin, depicting scenes dedicated to Glory and human genius, as well as figures of Imero, Pindaro, Hesiod and Democrite. Two rooms are decorated in the style of chinoiser David Zanott. Other monuments include decorations and paintings by Giovanni Battista Frulli, Luigi Busatti, Antonio Basoli, Gaetano Caponeri, Minozzi Flaminio, Vincenzo Martinelli and other artists.
Of particular value are two rooms on the first side, neoclassical Sala dello Zodiaco, with frescoes, imovirno, Antonio Basoli, and the Winter Garden (also known as the “Boschereccia” room), “tree”, painted by Rodolfo Fantuzzi.
