Built in the middle of the 16th century by the brothers Andrea and Giacomo Marquez of Formagin on the remains of an old building. The palace has a large courtyard with a double loggia of Doric columns and a small loggia with Ionic columns. The third floor is decorated with pilasters with Corinthian capitals and medallions of the main Roman generals above the windows. A massive sculpture of Hercules by Giuseppe Mazza adorns the entrance to the upper floors.
The building was damaged during World War II and was sold to the city. Restoration work was carried out in the 1970s and 1980s. Now the Faculty of Law of the University of Bologna is located here.
