When you go out to the square in front of the Cathedral, and the sun illuminates every curlicue, it seems that it is floating in the sky like a cloud. The most significant values ​ ​ in it are the gilded statue of the patroness of Milan - Madonna, the "terrible" statue of the martyr St. Bartholomew, the mausoleum of Giacomo Medici, and the nail with which Christ was crucified. And finally, I bow to the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, who made a device that lifts the Bishop of Milan to a niche with a nail, which still works. The nail is marked with a red beam. There is also an observation deck on the roof.
I like to climb all sorts of observation platforms, but this time, unfortunately, it didn’t work out (in Milan I was traveling for half a day). I only had time to visit the Sforza castle and take a short walk in the center.
