Monument to Garibaldi

Monumento a Garibaldi
Italy, Rome
The Garibaldi monument is part of the memorial complex of the defenders of Republican Rome, which is set on Janiculum Hill. The monument was erected on September 20, 1895 according to the design of Emilio Gallori. The monument depicts a bronze figure of Giuseppe Garibaldi on horseback mounted on a marble pedestal. The pedestal of the monument was decorated with bronze sculptures and allegorical figures that commemorate the landing on Marsala and the defense of Rome.

The monument stands on top of Janiculum. The monument itself is of purely academic interest, but one of the most impressive panoramas of the city opens from the terrace where it is located. Therefore, I put 8. Excursions are not led here, so I advise you to get there by some bus (there are enough of them from the Trastevere area), and go down on foot.
