Donnafugata is a fairy-tale castle located 20 km from Ragusa in the middle of a fantastic landscape surrounded by thickets of carob trees. The total area of the estate exceeds 2.5 thousand sq.m.
More than 700 years ago, a tower was built on this site, then a simple castle, and each successive owner left traces of his influence on the magnificent building. The castle consists of 144 luxuriously furnished rooms, but not all of them are open to tourists. The main hall with its coats of arms is reminiscent of the times of the knights, the bishop's chambers are full of decorations, and each guest bedroom is furnished in its own style. Each room has at least two entrances - one for the owners, the second for the staff.
