I’ll make a reservation right away: I am an experienced skier, I have visited many resorts and many countries. Compared to ski resorts in Switzerland, Austria, Italy and even Bulgaria, Macedonian resorts are more affordable. The trails here are great. And the level of service, infrastructure and variety of entertainment is a thing to come. However, if you are serious about relaxing, then such trifles will not spoil your vacation.

My company and I booked a corporate holiday with skiing at the Karpattour in a place where we ourselves had never been before, and our friends shrugged their shoulders in surprise when we told where we were going.

As an avid skier, I am always interested in conquering new peaks, and Macedonia was also advised to us because not everyone in our company skis. Some guys needed somewhere to spend time while others were skating. Manager Andrianna advised us "Mavrovo".
I must say right away that this is not just the name of a resort, it combines three concepts at once: a village, a national park and a ski resort. All in all, it was exactly what we needed.

The resort is located in the northern part of the national park. The tracks are located at an altitude of 1255-1900 m above sea level, there are 18 of them in total. But not all of them work at the same time. The fact is that Mavrovo annually hosts major international slalom and snowboard competitions. All tracks are equipped with snow cannons, so there is always enough snow. We were lucky with the weather and there was plenty of snow. All trails are marked - yellow are for beginners, green for seasoned, and blue and black for pros, which are full of steep descents and turns. The resort has several hotels, a restaurant, a disco, a casino and a bar in the evenings. One of the most popular activities is night skiing.
We wanted to relax at the maximum budget and at the same time, so that the ski lift was nearby, and we were advised the Lodge 3 * hotel, where accommodation for 1 person with breakfast cost us 230 euros per week. We do not advise taking other meals in Macedonia. The fact is that eating in restaurants is much more interesting and varied in local small restaurants than being tied to a hotel because of food. The hotel corresponds to its category, but we are such tourists who do not put forward special conditions. The hotel has a rental of skis, sledges, snowboards, a cafe operates both in the hotel and there is a remote trade right next to the track, the breakfast was tasty and plentiful, Wi-Fi is available, the speed is good. The disadvantage of the hotel is that there was no pool. It is very useful to relieve tension after skiing. But between an expensive stay in a hotel with a pool and a budget, they chose the budget.
Since getting to Macedonia is quite difficult without your own transport. We ordered a delivery service to the resort and back from TO. We were 18 people, we were provided with a 20-seater Mercedes. The driver was with us all week and, thanks to this, we also went on an excursion to the Bigorsky Monastery of John the Baptist and walked around Skopje.
