Fort St. Angelo is a large military fortification in the city of Birgu. The exact date of construction of the fort is unknown, and the researchers date back to the times of the Roman Empire. Later, it was undoubtedly rebuilt and strengthened, and its latest addition is the tower, the current remains of which archaeologists date back to the 11th century.

Today, some parts of the fort are rented by the Order of Malta, while others are in turn used as a military museum.
