The Great Arsenal of the city of Gdańsk was built according to the design of Anthony van Obbergen in 1600–1609. Architects Wilhelm van der Meer and Abraham van der Block designed the decorations for the building's façade. The project of the arsenal is designed in the style of the Dutch mannerism.

Until the 19th century, the Grand Arsenal was used as a warehouse for weapons. Currently, there is a trading floor here, and the Academy of Fine Arts is located on the upper floors.

Arsenal (Velka Zbroevnya)
The Great Arsenal (Wielka Zbrojownia) is an architectural monument of the early 17th century. The large arsenal faces the Coal Market (Targ W? gloweg) with one facade, and the Pivnaya Street (Ulica Piwna) with the other. Adjacent to it is an older defensive Straw Tower of the 14th century. Among the decorative elements of the facade of the building are the coat of arms of Gdansk and the statue of the ancient Roman goddess Minerva (the ancient Roman goddess of wisdom and war, the patroness of artisans, writers, actors, poets, artists, teachers, students and doctors).→

Urban architecture lovers
The building of the Arsenal was built in the style of Dutch Mannerism (16th century). And here, until the 19th century, all kinds of weapons, cannons and other military equipment were kept. Today, the Academy of Fine Arts is located here. Please note that the most beautiful facade of the Arsenal overlooks Piwna street (the photos were taken just from this street).→
