Church of St. Joseph

Poland, Krakow
A majestic Neo-Romanesque temple, which is the architectural dominant of the Podgórze district of Krakow. The church was built at the beginning of the 20th century according to the design of the famous Polish architect Jan Zubzhitsky-Sas. Two small chapels adjoin the temple. The decoration of the walls of the religious building is dominated by dark red brick, which is successfully combined with light stone decor. The facade of the church is framed by two tetrahedral towers, which turn into an octagon closer to the top. Each such tower has two white-stone balconies, in which sculptures of saints are installed.

The huge church is the architectural dominant of the Podguze district. It was built in the neo-Romanesque style in 1905-1909 by architect Jan Sas-Zubzycki. Brick three-nave basilica with an elongated presbytery and transept. The central nave is significantly higher than the side ones. Adjacent to the church are two small chapels - the Nativity of Christ and the Crucified Christ. To the right of the presbytery is a rectangular difference, and to the left is another chapel with a separate entrance from the courtyard - the Chapel of Adoration.
