The park was established in 1889 on the initiative of Polish public figure Henryk Jordan. As a sign of gratitude for charitable activities and support of physical culture, the city council named the park after him. This is a kind of guide to the history of Poland. Marble and bronze busts of great Poles - politicians, scientists, military, priests - have been installed along the paths. By 1900.31 busts had been erected there. By 1914.46 busts of famous Polish writers, poets and public figures had been erected in the park. In the center of the park is a bust of Jordan himself. There is another interesting monument - the bear Wojtek, who went through the war with the 2nd Corps of the Army of General Anders. Currently, the park area is 21.
