Memorial and State Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau

Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, Memorial and Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau, Auschwitz Concentration and Death Camp, Obóz Koncentracyjny Auschwitz-Birkenau
Poland, Oswiecim
The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and State Museum was opened in 1947 on the territory of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, which operated during the Second World War. The museum is dedicated to the memory of concentration camp prisoners, victims of the Nazi regime. The complex unites several concentration camps and occupies a huge area near the city of Auschwitz. This is a notorious place where about 1.4 million Jews, Polish and Soviet prisoners of war were killed. Every year the museum is visited by many people from all over the world. On the territory of the Auschwitz-Birkenau complex there are barracks, blocks with preserved furnishings of that time (medical rooms, punishment cells), a death wall, a gas chamber and numerous memorials. Expositions are organized in several blocks, which present archival documents, photographs, lists of the dead, drawings, farewell letters, objects and belongings of prisoners, as well as materials telling about the atrocities of the Nazis and the terrible living conditions in the concentration camp. Huge warehouses of clothes, glasses, shoes and other belongings of prisoners leave a terrible impression.. Auschwitz-Birkenau is the largest Nazi death camp and one of the main symbols of the Holocaust.

I have been planning to go there for a long time, because I think. that everyone should be there. After this, you rethink your life and understand that all this fuss and problems are such nonsense in fact. This is an amazing place with a very heavy energy, where you just want to be silent to yourself and be alone with your thoughts. It's like going down to Hell and seeing everything with your own eyes. A must for current students!
