Monte Palace Tropical Gardens are located on top of Monte Hill with stunning views over the bay of Funchal. Monte, an 18th century historic site, has been transformed into a charming garden and museum owned by the Bernardo Foundation. Here you can find a wide variety of exotic flowers from different continents, as well as a variety of wildlife such as ducks, white and black swans, peacocks, chickens and Japanese carp.
