South-East of the Moscow region, the village of Bykovo.

Amazing place for beauty and feeling! Went on a family trip with kids. We enjoyed walking in the old park and listening to the guide. She shared with us her author's findings, interspersing figures and facts with stories about human destinies.

Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God. The beauty of this temple is amazing: gothic elements, two floors with different interiors, intrigue in the project, which historians still argue about, the tragic love story of the owner of the estate, which caused alterations and the difficult years of the Soviet era. The temple is active. One of its treasures is the miraculous icon of the Mother of God. Judging by the number of gifts, turning to her helps believers.

Palace of the Vorontsov-Dashkovs and the manor park. Walking in the park is just soothing! Ponds from the 18th century, although overgrown and already without white piers, are still romantic.
The gazebo is a real creation of V. I. Bazhenov. And when a red-brick palace opens up from behind thick trees, there is even awe in front of this creation! Its history is also complicated: several eminent owners, a fire, a school for saboteurs, a sanatorium. But until now, the interiors that remember the Vorontsovs have been preserved in the palace! Unfortunately, the palace, unlike the temple, is not being restored, and they are not allowed inside. The destruction is visible and it is a pity to lose such beauty.

Conclusion: we booked an excursion with Inna, went by bus, but realized that it was not difficult to come to the village. Bykovo, where the estate is located, independently. Although without a tour it will not be so interesting. It is very nice that there is a cafe on the territory of the temple: good coffee, interesting herbal teas (acorn tea was a discovery! ) and buns that are baked right there. A small gallery was set up in the cafe with paintings depicting the estate and the church and books.
The books are not cheap, but they turned out to be very informative, especially from Nikonov V. V. about the fate of the temples of this region of M. O. (I bought it, I did not regret it).

Many thanks to the knowledgeable and loving tour guide! And special thanks to the volunteers of the estate, thanks to which the park is kept clean and initiatives are being promoted for the restoration of the entire estate! We sincerely hope that such beauty will not be destroyed, and one day we will come to the palace as a museum or a concert. I would be glad if my story about this amazing place will interest you and help you spend your holidays in the suburbs! If you need clarification on some issues, you can write to: gamina@mail. en
