The column was erected in 1732, after a great fire in Bratislava. It depicts the patron saint of firefighters, St. Florian. The monument was made by Gode's studio, sculptor Christoph Rentfort. The pedestal is made of white Austrian sandstone and artificial stone, the figure of the saint is made of the sandstone of the Horzyce quarry. On the pedestal - three bas-reliefs depicting famous episodes from the life of the saint. On separate pedestals - statues of St. Lawrence and the martyr Stephen.

This monument stood at the Laurin Gate for about 200 years, and in 1938 it was moved to the Blumenthal Church. Restoration works were carried out in 2005-2014.
