Wat Phra Sing Temple

Wat Prasingh, Wat Phra Singh
Thailand, Chiang Mai
Wat Phra Singh Temple or Buddha Lion Temple was founded in the mid-fourteenth century by order of King Phra Yu. The temple is one of the most revered temples in the city and the only one to receive the title of Royal Temple.
Since its inception, Wat Phra Singh has been the repository of sacred Buddhist relics such as the Lion Buddha Statue and the famous Emerald Buddha statue, later moved to Bangkok. On the territory of the temple complex there is a functioning Buddhist library, which contains valuable historical manuscripts.
