This private reserve, located seven kilometers from Central Pattaya, was originally created to treat sick and injured elephants. The attitude towards these animals in the Kingdom of Thailand is reverent and respectful - which is not surprising, since in ancient times it was impossible to do without the help of these strong animals. They performed a wide variety of functions - lifting weights during the construction of fortresses and city fortifications, assistance in hostilities (ferocious war elephants could easily put the enemy army to flight), a means of transportation in the impenetrable jungle. The elephant was also a symbol of good luck and victory. The law punishing the death of an elephant with capital punishment still exists. In Thai architecture, there are many temples where images of elephants are present in the composition - for example, the ancient Wat Chang Lom (translated from Thai "chang" means "elephant") is decorated with 39 sculptures.
In the elephant village, you have the opportunity to get up close and personal with these animals and observe unique scenes from their daily lives. The daily elephant show consists of a lot of exciting stunts in their performance - football, war elephant parade, work in the jungle and even painting pictures. You can also ride an elephant and feed it.
