While relaxing in Bodrum or its environs, it is impossible to pass by the fortress, the construction of which was carried out for several centuries by the Greeks, the Venetians with the Genoese, the British and the Turks. Therefore, on the territory of the fortress there are several towers of the same name, built by the Turks, the British and Italians, who in turn occupied the fortress guarding the bay of Halicarnassus.

Initially, the fortress began to be built from stones left after the destruction of the famous mausoleum, which led to the 7 wonders of the world.

The entrance ticket cost then 10 lire. Before the tour, put on normal shoes without heels and stock up on water. And then I saw how some tourists jumped on their heels along the stone narrow stairs. By the way, a map will not hurt either, otherwise, despite the small size of the fortress, it is not difficult to get lost there.

Inside the museum complex there are several different compositions.
Samples of amphorae, weapons, antique accessories taken from ships are exhibited. There are cannons on the walls. The towers and high walls offer beautiful views of the bay and the city of Bodrum.
And it is better to contemplate the fortress itself from the high mill mountain.
