The scale of the fortress is impressive. The rest - not so much.
My attitude to the Belgorod-Dniester fortress, like many others, is ambiguous. On the one hand, it is perhaps the oldest surviving fortress in the country. Scientists date part of it back to ancient times, and most of the buildings are medieval.
On the other hand, the fortress is just three (previously there were four) yards surrounded by walls with bastions. On one of them stands the citadel, which is really impressive. On the other is a small grove. The coolest thing about the fortress is the view from some of the towers.
Those who want to see the Belgorod-Dniester fortress should come to one of the many holidays, otherwise there will be nothing to do here for more than two hours.
