Practical recommendations:

It must be borne in mind that the place is in an abandoned state - just a complex of buildings in a very deplorable state in the middle of a wild forest, no one cares about this attraction, there is no light except natural, there are no paths, toilets, food, etc. Plan to visit for 1-2 hours.

We were lucky to meet a small group with a local guide, which we, with the permission of the group, joined. Why you need a guide here:
1) there are many dangerous places (pits, wells, unknown underground passages, collapsing ceilings, etc. ), so you need to know where you can, and where it is not very recommended.
2) you need a person who will guide you to interesting places and tell you, otherwise you will see ~ 20% of interesting things, and you will learn or understand little.

The fort is not visible from the E40 highway, there are no signs to it either. How to find it?
From the side of Rovno you pass the village of Tarakanov to the very end, on the left side of the road there is a cemetery, turn towards it, and then go around it on the right side along a dirt road. After 500 meters there will be a spontaneous parking, go past and further along the same road inland. Walk along the path between the two walls of the fort (outer and inner) almost to the turn. On the left side you will see one of the entrances to the tunnel, passing through which you will enter the fort.

Attention! Comfortable closed clothing (trousers and long sleeves), as well as sports shoes, are strongly recommended, because the place is completely wild with lush and sometimes poisonous vegetation (hogweed, for example), it is cool and humid inside buildings and dungeons. It is also highly recommended to have a good powerful flashlight (a real one, not a telephone one), since there is absolutely no lighting inside buildings, tunnels and underground passages.
About children: I would NOT recommend taking small children for the same reason that this place is not safe. With teenagers you can - they will be delighted.

Speaking of impressions, they are the most powerful, the fort is definitely worth seeing! And since it is actively destroyed by weather conditions and local residents who take it away for scrap metal and building materials, you need to see it as soon as possible (you see, after some kind of accident, all entrances to the fort will be closed forever). My personal impressions - very often associations with the Colosseum and other ancient Roman ruins arose in my head, although the fort is only a little over 100 years old .. .
