The five-story brick church (1893) stands in the historic center of the city, occupying an island position in the middle of the quarter, where in the first half of the eighteenth century. was the hetman's residence. It is the most massive architectural dominant. Located on the territory of the National Reserve "Deaf". This is the only church in Ukraine with such a name.

The building is cubic, three-nave, four-column, cross-domed, with three semicircular inside and faceted apses on the outside. Under the whole church there is a basement covered with a system of cross vaults. It was used for economic and technical needs, including for the installation of steam heating.

The spatial structure of the church is typical of the Neo-Byzantine style. It is based on a spatial cross with a bath on elastic arches and cylindrical vaults. The space between the shoulders is covered with cross vaults.
Above them rise through arched octaves, topped with spherical domes. They serve as bell towers and give the impression of pentathlon. Unconventional features of the three-dimensional composition of the church are the presence of a circular walk around the middle apse, as well as isolation from the main space of the two corner western compartments, which house the stairwell and baptistery.

The exterior is dominated by vertical divisions - blades, narrow elongated arched windows, semi-columns, vertical profiled rods. The three entrances are accentuated by vestibule porches with Romanesque perspective portals and triangular tongs. The main spatial cross on all facades is emphasized by mosquitoes crowning the middle ridges of the walls and elongated windows grouped in the form of triforia. In the side vertebrae the windows are grouped in the form of biphores.
The windows are separated by Romanesque half-columns with cubic carved capitals.

The church is built of local bricks on lime mortar, plastered. The foundations are laid at a depth of more than 4 m. Roofs and baths on wooden rafters and circles are covered with roofing steel.

The temple has an extremely valuable interior decor. Plot and decorative paintings were made in 1892-1893. Their program was set by AL Gun. The cone of the middle asp depicts the Virgin with the Cross surrounded by cherubs, in the dome - the Holy Trinity, in the sails - the Evangelists, on the walls - some scenes from sacred history. On the supporting arches, pylons and drums - ornamental paintings of neo-Byzantine character with a predominance of elements of circle, square, cross and meander. High integrity of the decor gives a golden background of ornamental paintings, as well as stars, halos and highlights of the paintings. The color scheme is dominated by classic navy blue, green, ocher tones.
In the lower tier is the tomb of the Tereshchenko family, where five members of the family are buried.
