The Maritime Museum was opened on June 3, 2009 on the basis of the private collection of Kharkiv resident Alexander Yakimenko, which he had been collecting for 40 years. The museum is dedicated to the history of shipbuilding and navigation. Here you can see dozens of models of sailing and other ships, a layout of the cabin of a 17th century warship, navigational instruments, engravings on a marine theme, diaries of sea travelers, a real 19th century steamship horn, depth charges, a torpedo, battle flags and much more. The museum also hosts joint exhibitions with other Kharkov museums dedicated to the history of navigation and underwater photography.

A must visit for both kids and adults

The museum impressed with the most interesting exhibits and a wonderful tour! we (4 adults) discovered a new world sea voyages) thanks to the guide Alexander, plunged into the old days, empathized and laughed with the stories of this wonderful Man -1000% fan of his work Highly recommend and I'm sure we'll be back for sure.→
