The castle bridge in Kamianets-Podilskyi is considered one of the seven wonders of the city - it is an architectural monument of national importance. The buildings are popularly called the Turkish Bridge. Today it is a solid stone wall connecting the city with the Old Castle. Now it bears little resemblance to a bridge, more like a dam. But about half a thousand years ago it was a bridge where two carts could not turn around.

The first mention of the bridge in 1494. According to the hypothesis of architects-restorers, the bridge was built by the Romans in the early 2nd century. Based on these assumptions, the city was included in the "Book of Records of Ukraine" as the oldest. The name Castle Bridge was recorded in documents in the 1540s. It became known as Turkish after the city was owned by the Turks in 1672-1699. During their rule, Kamyanets underwent significant reconstruction.

During the existence of cities has repeatedly been destroyed and rebuilt.
Until 1876, the bridge had stone barriers and was so narrow that it was impossible to drive two carts. Travelers who want to pass it, had to wait for the right moment so that no one went to the meeting. Later, a guard appeared here, who supervised the crossing of the bridge. There were towers at both ends of the bridge. In 1876, a large tower of St. Anne was dismantled to widen the road. So far, only small fragments of those towers have survived. The bridge was expanded that year and made it easier to use, although it lost its originality forever.

In 1942, during the occupation of the city, the Germans last carried out a significant reconstruction of the Turkish bridge. The structures were widened to 7.5 meters, the roadway to 6 meters, and the surface was raised to 2.5 meters with the help of a stone-earth layer. This deprived the bridge of concavity and made traffic easier. From 1976 to 2007, the bridge was closed to traffic.
Now it is possible to pass, but travel is paid.

In 1999, the Castle Bridge was included in the list of the 100 most outstanding monuments in the world that need careful attention and preservation. As a result of a survey conducted in 2007, residents of Kamianets-Podilskyi recognized the building as one of the 7 wonders of the city.
