The Taras Shevchenko National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Ukraine is located on Vladimirskaya Street near Golden Gate. The building was built in 1901 according to the design of the architect Viktor Schroeter. It has an area of more than 40 thousand square meters and can accommodate 1650 spectators. The theater is also known for the fact that in 1911 Stolypin was assassinated here.
Currently, the National Academic Theater is the country's main opera house, hosting all kinds of performances.
