The National Art Museum of Ukraine is located on Hrushevskogo Street between Maidan Nezalezhnosti and Dynamo Stadium. It was opened in 1899 and became the first public museum in the city. Here is the richest collection of Ukrainian painting and icon painting. The museum also regularly hosts exhibitions of contemporary Ukrainian artists.
