The Church of St. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa is located in the historical center of the city near the High Castle. This is one of the oldest buildings in Lviv, known since the 13th century. The church acquired its present form in the 17th century. It performed a defensive function for a long time, and several loopholes in the upper tier have survived to this day. Currently, the church belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate, and regular services are held here.
