Ivan Franko Park is located in the Galician district of the city in front of the main building of Lviv University. It has an area of 11.6 hectares. The park is considered one of the oldest in Ukraine: its history dates back to the 16th century, and at the beginning of the 17th century it was transferred to the possession of Jesuit monks. In 1886, the central alley was laid in the park. Today it is planted with oaks, maples, lindens, and there are rare trees. The sights of the park are also a monument to Ivan Franko and an arbor of 1835.
