The Mariupol Museum of Local Lore is located on Georgievskaya Street, east of the Donetsk Russian Drama Theatre. It was founded in 1920 and is the oldest museum in the Donetsk region. The museum has collected more than 53 thousand exhibits related to the history of the Azov region. It is divided into 4 exhibition departments: nature, history of the pre-Soviet period, history of the Soviet period and the modern period.
