The Museum-Reserve of N.V. Gogol was opened on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the writer in the former estate of his parents Vasilyevka-Yanovshchina, where the writer spent his early years. The estate, which was badly damaged during the Nazi occupation, was reproduced from photographs, drawings, and memoirs of contemporaries. The museum complex includes the parental home, an outbuilding with Gogol's study, a pond with a grotto on the shore, a wooden gazebo, a century-old garden with a central alley lined with tiles, a stone block on which Nikolai Vasilyevich liked to sit, thinking, the grave of Gogol's parents. In the recreated interiors of the house there is an exposition that gives an idea of ​​the Gogol era, the life and work of the writer. Here are the first editions of Gogol's books, original interior items, personal belongings of the writer and members of his family. The Gogol Reserve is an architectural monument of national importance.

A winter fairy tale in the Gogol Museum
