The first hermit monks appeared on the picturesque Mgar mountain above the Sula River as early as the 10th century. The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery itself was founded here at the beginning of the 17th century by the monk of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Isaiah Kopinsky, who did a lot to preserve Orthodoxy in Ukraine. Now these places are considered prayerful by believers, so the flow of pilgrims never dries up. Now, at the Mgarsky Monastery, the construction of a hotel for tourists is actively underway.

Significant place of Poltava region
I got acquainted with the Mharsky monastery during my vacation in Mirgorod, from where regular excursions are organized. The monastery stands on a high hill and is visible from afar. For believing pilgrims, a guest house was built at the monastery, there is a dining room. After the service, parishioners are treated to lunch and Cossack tea. The service is held with a large gathering of parishioners, the images of saints on the walls and the iconostasis are fascinating. After the service, everyone can take communion and confess.→

There is so much to see here and the atmosphere is just amazing.
On May 7, we went on an excursion tour "Mgarsky Monastery - Poltava". The trip started early in the morning, so we arrived in Poltava when there were few people on the street. The city is small but very cozy. There are a lot of lilacs on the streets, the smell is overwhelming. We stayed in Poltava for about 2 hours, and then we moved to Lubny. Mgarsky monastery is small, it is quiet and calm there. The monk gave us a tour of the territory, told us about the shrines of the monastery. Then we went on our own to the Skit, located 400 meters from the monastery.→
