And here I am on the island of Khortytsya in the Zaporizhzhya Sich. What immediately impressed me was nature, the air saturated with the aromas of herbs and flowers, the sun, in general, heaven on earth. A splendid panorama of the DneproHES opens…
First we went to the museum. What is typical for this museum is that most of the exhibits are original, from archaeological excavations. A very well-read, professional tour guide worked with us.
At first, when he talked about the era of the emergence of the Cossacks, a lot of reference information poured out on us, but when we were already approaching the exhibits from the life of the Cossacks, we involuntarily plunged into the times of that era, and this state did not leave until the end of the excursion.
After the tour in the museum, we visited the very fortress of the Zaporizhzhya Sich. Before us opened the real grandeur of the Zaporozhye fortress, I did not expect such a scale. A huge territory, fenced with a pointed palisade, the entrance to the massive gate is through the bridge.
The fortress itself (I would say a town) consists of residential buildings (huts), weapons, utility rooms, watchtowers, cannons, protective structures, wagons; behind the fortress - ditches equipped for combat. But what struck me from the buildings inside the fortress was the church - a huge wooden frame (just a masterpiece of masters! ), And the main thing is that it is beautiful both outside and inside ...
We all received unforgettable impressions and invaluable knowledge about our region.
