Healing geyser in the Kherson region

I heard about the geyser in the Kherson region for a long time, I even drove by several times, but we went somehow spontaneously and without any special fees. I threw a call - "Who's going? ”, and, oddly enough, the family quickly agreed. Having previously searched the Internet, I collected some information about this geyser: drilling was carried out here in the 70s, they were looking for either gas or oil, but, having gone deep to 1527 meters, they found nothing but hot water. The pipe was welded up and left in the steppe until better times, when it was discovered by local "metalworkers". The pipe was cut off and immediately handed over for scrap, and a geyser with hot water with very healing properties began to beat from the bowels of the earth. The source was opened to visitors in 2005.

We left Nikolaev at 10 am and a couple of hours later we were there. The length of the route was about 140 km, from Kherson 80 km, from the Iron Port -15 km.
The road is normal, excluding the section of the path directly at the entrance to the source, several kilometers of which are a dirt road, driven by a large number of vehicles following to the geyser and back with passengers who are eager to receive healing from various curable and not very diseases, well, like us - who are interested in everything new and unknown.

Upon arrival at our destination, in the middle of the primordial steppe untouched by civilization, we saw a fenced area with some nondescript buildings, similar to a fishing camp. At the entrance there is a booth with a billboard and an open barrier, which, most likely, is closed only at night. Then we saw the source itself, fenced with wooden buildings.
Near the entrance and inside the bath itself, recommendations are posted regarding the time and frequency of bathing, as well as medical indications for the use of these waters. At the entrance to the bath, under a visor, a young, but rather shabby woman of 27 years old, was standing alone, pretty chilled in the cold, as evidenced by a strong blush on her face. She immediately categorically stated: “40 UAH. per person for one hour, then we pay extra. Having parked the car in a kind of parking lot located nearby and paid for the entrance, we found ourselves in the middle of a fenced area, in the very heart of the source - here it is, a miracle of nature ennobled by man. About 40-50 people were already splashing in the pools. There was steam above the pools. The smell of iodine and something else, familiar from childhood, probably from the school first-aid post, hit my nose right away.
After walking along the wooden flooring into the depths of the territory, on the "shores" of the source, we chose a dressing room for ourselves, which is an ordinary shed made of roughly knocked together boards, in the direct sense of the word by a sane person. I can’t call it another way, although I chose the words for a long time. Inside the "dressing room" there were two tables and a couple of benches made of the same boards, which meant the opportunity to sit and eat. Having carried out the ritual of changing clothes in this locker room at an accelerated pace, which was facilitated by the ambient temperature of minus 5 degrees (the temperature outside is no different from the temperature inside, since there is no heating), we quickly immersed our bodies in the waters of the source.

Water has an unattractive brown-rusty appearance, but is pleasantly warm and slightly viscous, so much so that it pushes out a body immersed in it.
A little about the water itself - it (according to the inscriptions on the information board) has a temperature of 65 - 70 degrees at the outlet of the pipe and contains a large set of unique minerals, which are based on boron, bromine and iodine. In its uniqueness, it is very similar to the water of the Dead Sea in Israel (I was there and I will tell you that visually and to the touch it is not at all similar). By carrying out procedures in a pool with this water, you can treat: diseases of the musculoskeletal system (joints, muscles, rheumatic and traumatic origin, intervertebral hernia, arthritis, arthrosis), diseases of the vascular system and the circulatory system, diseases of the thyroid gland (iodine deficiency), skin diseases (psoriasis, seborrhea), diseases of the autonomic nervous system, diseases of the upper respiratory tract, endocrine and metabolic diseases, problems of the gastrointestinal tract.
Do not forget that bathing in the source is a rather large load on the body, it is recommended to do it no more than 2-3 times a week.

, however, in my opinion, the water of the spring does not have a temperature of 70 degrees, 45-50 at most. Of course, I didn’t have a thermometer with me and I didn’t have the opportunity to conduct a complete and high-quality measurement of the water temperature both in the source’s vent and along its edges, but, given my life experience, I can confidently declare that 70 degrees is not there. The source is divided into two pools, which are interconnected and represent communicating vessels - from one the water gradually flows into the other, where it cools down. In the same place, outside the pool area, there is also a mud bath, but we didn’t get there, because there was a lock on the doors.
I want to warn you - due to the color of the water and the presence of all kinds of coloring substances in it, I do not recommend taking white bathing suits with you to the source, since there is a high probability that they will take on the color of the water forever. Also, there is no shower at the source, after the procedures it will not work to wash. It remains only to wipe dry with a towel before dressing.

Despite the recommendations, stay in the water for no more than 3-4 minutes and take breaks of 10-15 minutes between bathing, almost all the people (including us) sat in the water without breaks, maybe frost and not desire go out into the cold air from warm water, I don't know. But the fact that water affects the heart was felt after 15 minutes. After splashing around, checking the temperature on ourselves at all points of the pool and having a lot of fun, an hour later we decided to go home. One hour was enough for us, we don’t need more, it’s hard for the body.
I would like to note that in the neighborhood I observed several companies whose members could not read or did not understand how to treat their body in conditions of overload. In short, they drink and drink a lot of vodka there, despite the warnings from the administration about the prohibition of this action and about the harmful effect of the white snake on the human body, exhausted by the healing water of the source. But this is everyone's business, we will not discuss their actions, they are adults. So, after an hour, we changed clothes and headed back. During the journey, I caught myself thinking that I constantly smelled the source in the car - so we didn’t take a shower.
It remained to reconcile and calm myself with the thought that all the time on the way back, the beneficial substances that remained on the skin during the visit to the source are absorbed into me through the epidermis, exercising their healing effect on my entire body and producing indelible improvements.

Summing up my brief story, I would like to say that, despite the almost complete lack of civilization and service at the source, we all got a lot of pleasure from the trip itself and from swimming. We arrived home a little drunk from the healing components of the source, the path we had traveled and the impressions received.
