Serednyansky Castle is located in the village of Sredne to the east of Uzhgorod. It was founded by the Templars in the 12th century. The castle served as a key defensive structure with which the knights controlled the supply of salt to Europe. The twenty-meter donjon tower with walls almost 3 meters thick was impregnable.

Today, only ruins remain of the castle, keeping traces of its former grandeur. But even now tourists have something to see.
