The Reunification Palace is located in the city center near the Jade Emperor Pagoda. The modern building was built in 1966 on the site of a late 19th-century palace destroyed by bombing. The monumental building, nicknamed the “dragon head” by the locals, is the residence of the President of Vietnam.
