In May 2008 we visited Romania. For many, she is terra incognita. And for us it was too. . . What do we know about Romania? Country of vampires and gypsies? And all, perhaps. All, but not all. I'll start with nature. Amazing beauty. In Romania, a third of the area is the Carpathians. Landscapes of extraordinary beauty. Mountains covered with deciduous forest, coniferous forest and mountains with eternal snow. It's already breathtaking. We have not seen such a quantity of any living creatures (sheep, horses, storks) for a long time. The people are similar to Italians and the language is very similar. It is pleasant to listen to Romanian speech - it is beautiful. Gypsies are found as often as in any other country - as in Ukraine, for example. No one runs after you, no one begs - there is none of that. The roads are unimportant, there are many faceless cities - like ours. But there are cities - and immanno they took us there - very beautiful, ancient, breathing the Middle Ages, with well-preserved fortresses (whole medieval towns), included in the UNESCO heritage list. The architecture is different - and all unusual. We stayed and lived in Transylvania (probably the most beautiful part of the country) in a 4-star hotel in the ski resort of Predial, and from there we were taken on various excursions. We got a lot of pleasure, saw the cities of Segisoara, Brasov, Sinai, the peasant fortress of Ryshnov (super), the castle of Vladislav Tepes (Dracula) Bran, the Peles royal palace (no words !!! ), Bucharest (I liked it the least - it was so disfigured in the era of Cheushescu ).

What are the monasteries in Romania, what unusual architecture!! ! And you know that in spite of that. that even the name of Romania comes from the word Rome, 85% of the population are Orthodox. There are very few Catholics, there are Protestants. Temples, both Orthodox and Protestant, are majestic and well-groomed. The Orthodox have murals that are unusual for us - inside the walls of the temples they are painted with frescoes entirely, as if covered with a beautiful fabric with a pattern. The drawing is even on the columns, and in the Voronets monastery there is a unique temple covered with frescoes both inside and out. Frescoes have been preserved since the 16th century. Romanian cuisine is hearty and delicious. Portions in restaurants are such that it is impossible to eat. The beer is good, we didn’t try the wine - we brought it with us - we will taste it at home. If there is an opportunity and desire, go to Romania. By the way, ski resorts are well developed there, there are slopes of varying difficulty, the hotels have a completely European service. In addition, there are several wonderful seaside resorts in Romania - you can say in Romania you can get everything your heart desires. It's a pity that the tour flew by so quickly. But now in my heart there is a place for this beautiful and amazing country.

Have you been to Romania? Romania is different - Transylvania is very beautiful. 5 days flew by like an instant - our delight knew no end. We filmed 3 hours of video, my son is 14 years old - I liked it very much (before that we were in Hungary, Slovakia, Russia), I didn’t want to leave. And if you take into account the EXCELLENT organization of the tour by people who know and LOVE Romania, they made a great tour (the trip was organized by the San Svit travel agency, the direction is led by Marin Bordei. And we were very lucky with the guide, his name is Edik, sorry I don’t remember his name... Thanks to these people, we discovered this amazing country for ourselves. What we wish you too. I think there are no ugly countries, there are bad tour organizers. Getting on the train in Chernivtsi, we talked with our group - people saw both the Czech Republic and Malta and Other than that, everyone was very pleased!
