Nothing good but nature
Were in Dombai in early January 2008. The impressions are terrible. Compared to 2004, it has become much worse. They set up a bunch of hotels in which there is no architecture, complete bad taste. There is almost nowhere to go. Trade is everywhere, no one was going to clean the paths, level them, or at least sprinkle them with sand.
The prices are insane for everything. Housing - a modest room where a shower combined with a toilet cost 7500 for two, but they rented it out only for three nights and no less. For lunch for two in a cafe without alcohol, we paid 1000 rubles. A glass of mulled wine 100 rubles. On the lifts there are huge queues not only for the ascent but also for the descent. The tracks don't line up. Trucks are used to bring people down the mountain. There were so many people that in the "paddling pool" there was no place, let alone to ride, even to pass.
Conclusion - no service, crazy prices. On the way to Moscow from Dombay to Rostov, there is not a single toilet along the highway. But under each bush there was a traffic cop, we were stopped about 20 times, despite the fact that we never violated a single rule. Everyone tried to test for sobriety.
