The Vorobeichikovs almost dragged the cauldron away : ))

Before the trip to Kazan, the children were given a task: to explore the main sights of the city (they know how to use the Internet, especially if it does not apply to school) and decide what they would like to see (not small already, it's time to learn to prioritize). Well, this topic did not touch my son at all. And my daughter took a picture of herself. And she really wanted to see ". . . such a huge, beautiful... uh, I don't remember... a saucepan. "

Kazan?

- Yeah, cauldron.

- There is also an observation deck. Mom, you love viewing platforms. Are we going?

- On the "pan" - that's for sure!

I hope that Kazan people will not be offended by such a designation, which sounded from the lips of a child : ))

In 2013, on the opposite bank of the Kazanka River from the Kremlin, Kazan Family Center, in the common people - the registry office. This outrageous building was built according to the project of the architect Dashi Namdakov. Yes, this is a real cauldron standing on props. And at night the "fire" under it lights up. Very beautiful. Unfortunately, they themselves did not make it to those parts at night, for illustration I took a photo from Yandex-images:

Photo from the Internet

The building fits well into the urban ensemble. And very quickly became a popular attraction of Kazan. And the embankment nearby has turned into a pleasant place for walking. . .

. . . and an important reference point in the family life of married couples.

So why exactly a saucepan, sorry, a cauldron? There are several reasons for this.

Firstly, among the Turkic peoples, a cauldron is a symbol of family well-being, the basis around which the entire family way of life and life is formed.

Giving a new version of maintaining, sticking to and all sorts of grabbing different sights. In this case, they tried to lift a heavy cauldron : ))

Well, the name of the city of Kazan is consonant with the word Kazan. According to one of the legends, according to the instructions of the sorcerer, people founded the city on the very place where water in a cauldron boils without fire. And this happened on the shore of Lake Kaban - no, not where the registry office is now installed. Hence the name of the city of Kazan and the Kazanka River. Although scientists still cannot agree on the origin of these names, there are a great many versions. But the one voiced above is still the most popular.

In 2016, again, according to the project of Dashi Namdakov, a sculptural group "He and She" appeared around the registry office - these are pairs of mythological animals with cubs:

The reaction to this whole affair, of course, was very stormy and ambiguous. Liked - disliked, corresponds - does not correspond, remove - leave... At the moment, the debate seems to be over, the happiness and well-being of the Kazan newlyweds is under the reliable protection of the families of winged dragons and leopards. What's with the dragons? Where did the leopards come from?

Since ancient times, the inhabitants of the city of Kazan have been guarded by the mythical dragon Zilant - formidable and strong. It is he who is depicted on the coat of arms of Kazan:

The coat of arms of Kazan

Again, there are many versions about Zilant (translated from Tatar - snake), but according to the most popular, Zilant is the only snake-king who had wings, thanks to which he managed to escape during the burning of the entire snake kingdom by people. On the mountain chosen by the khan for the construction of a fortress, snakes lived in great numbers, which did not allow them to settle in this place. But people did not leave the saved Zilant alone, they tried in every possible way to destroy him. As a result, the khan and Zilant concluded, as they would say now, a peace agreement: Zilant is spared his life, in return he faithfully serves the khan and protects the city from enemies.

The leopard is a symbol of wealth and fertility and the patron of children. The network mentions only one legend about how a leopard saved from death and fed an orphan boy. At the moment, the leopard is considered the defender of Tatarstan. He is depicted on the coat of arms of the Republic:

The Emblem of Tatarstan

Scientists are still wondering how the image of the leopard got into the Bulgarian culture, if animals have never been found in these parts. The leopard was depicted on the coat of arms of the Volga-Kama Bulgaria as early as the 12th century. Most likely, the worship of this beast somehow came from the mountainous regions of the Caucasus or Altai with settlers. But that, as they say, is another story.

Let's get back to our dragons. Everyone is entitled to their point of view. And, perhaps, yes, such reliefs somewhat do not fit with the fabulous, somewhat blurry image, everything is very realistically drawn. And in the legends, it seems, nothing is said about the companions of the heroes... But on the whole, I personally liked it.

Males are protectors and earners, females are guardians and rulers. Yes, yes, each earner also needs to be sent : )). Also educators and nurses...

And the dragons and kittens are so cute. Children - they are also children of dragons and leopards : ))

And in conclusion of the review, I propose to get into the "pan", i. e. climb to the observation deck.

It is considered not the highest in the city, only 34 m, but the views there are worthy. Although, having stomped down the stairs, I don’t know how many steps, you no longer consider it low.

Working hours:

daily from 10:00 to 22:00.

Ticket price:

adult ticket - 150 rubles;

visitors under 18 years old - 100 rubles;

children under 7 years old - free of charge.

Immediately at the entrance, there is some bewilderment, they say, what is this - an observation deck through the bars? Even if they are beautiful.

No, no, I hasten to reassure you, there are also latticeless spaces.

With proper skill, you can arrange a wonderful photo shoot.

Yes, even without photographic skills, you should just admire and enjoy the open spaces of Kazan, take in everything at once.

And deep antiquity. . .

. . . and modern subjects. . .

. . . and natural beauty.

Here is the Volga. To the right - the confluence of the Kazanka and the Volga

This panKazan is a wonderful place. And if possible, it is worth a look there. Being on the Ferris wheel in Kyrlay Park, my daughter exclaimed: “Here he is, that big one, how is it…” – “Kazan? ” - “Yes, yes, cauldron. We need to go there. Yes, right, mom?! ”.

Somehow it happened that we no longer had time to inspect the Kazan. As an observation deck, it was no longer very interesting to us, we looked down on Kazan from the Ferris wheel and from the bell tower of the Epiphany Cathedral.

Views from the bell tower of the Epiphany Cathedral

From the side of the Kremlin, they looked at the Kazan bowl:

But on the day of departure, the daughter reminded once again of this promise. What to do, you have to do. We are by car, so we are not tied to the schedule of the plane or train. Go! And they didn't regret it. Very cute dragons and leopards live there, albeit not real ones.

P. S. If the lawns in the area were also put in order... the photos would be even better)). Still, family happiness looks much better on green grass than on a withered yellow mass. But that's the case, it's beside the point. Simply, really, I was struck by the neglected lawns in such a symbolic place.
