At the entrance to the village of Androsovo there is a memorial plaque, which tells that in this village in the period from 1769 to 1791. lived the grandfather of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin - Ulyanov N. V.

Androsovo is the most common Russian village located in the Central Russian zone, which is no different from thousands of similar villages in our country. In tsarist times, the local inhabitants of the village did not stand out for their special wealth and built, for the most part, inconspicuous shacks with thatched roofs. The standard of living in general was also at a fairly low level.

The village in which Lenin's grandfather lived began to flourish only after the appearance of a collective farm in it, thanks to which the peasants were able to replace the inefficient plow with rather powerful combines and tractors.

In our time, it has already become known that it was in this village that the Ulyanov family began its history. Raising the lists of peasants in the village of Androsovo for 1792, one can see in them Nikolai, Ulyanov's son, a peasant who fled from one of the villages in the Nizhny Novgorod province. He was assigned to the local landowner Brekhov. It can be added that it was this village that was the greatest fiefdom of this gentleman.

In 1786, less than a hundred people lived in the village, and most of them were men. Androsovo achieved the status of a village due to the fact that here in 1769 a small wooden church was cut down, to which priest Skvortsov and deacon Sirotin were invited to conduct services a little later. On the territory of the village of Androsovo there were about 30 acres of arable land subordinate to the church. By the end of the 18th century, the village, in fact, had two owners. Brekhov I. and Mikinina M. ruled one part of the village, and Astafiev V. , Kalrev A. and Boltina P. ruled the other part of the village.

In Androsovo, life became more and more difficult and most of the peasants fled the village, trying to find a better life. Escaped from the village and Ulyanov Nikolai Vasilyevich. In view of the fact that he was a fairly literate and intelligent person, knowing the decree of Catherine II on allowing runaway peasants not to return to their landlords, he decided not to return back to his native village.

The historical archives of the Nizhny Novgorod region still contain documents from which you can find out that N. V. Ulyanov was married to Smirnova A. A. , who gave birth to her husband 4 children: daughters Fedosya and Maria, and sons Vasily and Ilya.

Many years later, the son of Nikolai Vasilyevich, Ilya Nikolayevich, graduated with honors from Kazan University and became the director of one of the schools in the Simbirsk province. It was in his family that Vladimir Ilyich Lenin was born.

In 1922, already in the 20th century, Androsovo was assigned to the Buturli region, and even later became part of the Gagin region. Here, in 1927, the collective farm "Red Plowman" was created, which in 1933 was reorganized into the collective farm "Red Village".
