Insanely expensive non-seasonal Sochi 2019!

Finally got around to write a mini-story/mini-review about our holiday in Sochi. Sochi is the city of my summer childhood. For many years my parents took my sister and I there on vacation. Then there were trips with friends, etc. In short, I know Sochi not bad (central region).
I was resting (40 years old) + my child 7 years old. The choice fell on Sochi in April, because the child has another vacation. I decided to show her the city. I chose the Rainbow Hotel **, because the price was very reasonable + location (center). I would hardly call it a hotel - for me it's more like a guest house. And yes, yes, this is the center! And don't believe anyone who says the hotel is located in @ope of the world. Don't forget that Sochi is the longest city in Russia. If you want to live in the center of the center - this is a different price tag !! ! Before that, we rested in boarding houses such as "Green Grove", etc. , I don’t remember, in Zhemchuzhina, and in Sochi Breeze.
About the hotel.
The hotel is located in a lowland, closer to the private sector. The hotel is home to cute Spitz dogs. They run straight to the reception. Who has allergies is worth considering. But the kids have fun with them, because the dogs are very good-natured.
The staff is friendly. The rooms are not cleaned badly. If you ask, they try especially)) We took an attic room. I love higher. Excellent wi-fi in the rooms. The condo works
On the floor there is an ironing board with an iron, a cooler with hot and cold water, which is very nice. The rooms are non-smoking. There is a balcony on the floor. They smoke there or downstairs on the benches.
In order to have breakfast, you need to climb the hill to another boarding house. But, it didn’t bother us at all: a walk before breakfast is a thrill! Compensates for the lack of a gym. The breakfasts are excellent. Dietary, because this is some kind of medical boarding house. In boarding houses, the interiors are "borate", "smartly")) I haven't seen such a beautiful "scoop" for a long time.
You can also buy excursions there. The hotel is not intended for the elderly. And for people with babies and prams. .
There are many supermarkets near the hotel, there is a market with souvenirs and beach paraphernalia, a food market, a booze shop! All this is up from the hotel.
Food.
Sochi is a very, very expensive city! The prices are the same as in Moscow. I was ready for this, but still EXPENSIVE!
There are no problems with the choice of restaurants and cafes. Price tag question. Cards are accepted everywhere!
Hacks:
There is a business center/residential building next to the hotel (slightly uphill and across the road). There is a cafe on the first floor. It works until 17.00. Here the prices are fabulously low, and the food is delicious.
In the Mimino restaurant (Vinogradnaya st. , 4) - 1 or 2 stops towards the Riviera (by the way, unusually tasty, huge portions, great staff) you can get a 10% discount if you pay in cash and say, that you live in the house that is right behind it. New trendy building. This was suggested to us by the waiter.
Beach.
There is NO beach nearby!! ! I do not understand people who write that the beach is nearby! This hotel is generally designed to just spend the night in it. Pure excursion. And not to live and walk / get to the sea IMHO kanesh. The nearest beach is at least 1 km downhill and back up! Well, for the amateur kanesh...
I won't write much about entertainment. Because to each his own. There are no problems with this in Sochi. I showed the child and the Riviera with its crazy and expensive entertainment, and the Arboretum, and the mountains, and the rivers...
Embankment.
Clean, beautiful. Monaco for the poor. While you walk to the Pearl and back - no three))) Cotton candy, corn, juice / water, souvenirs, yachts, wine / beer, cigarettes))) Everything is expensive. Loved that there are smoking areas and not just a ban! Toward evening, musicians, artists, poets appear... like the Arbat... only warm.
Conclusion: of course, I am no longer a "driver" in Sochi. Just nostalgia hit me. Djerba again in October! So more reliable))
