The hotel is located almost in the very center of the city in a beautiful old building, perhaps once it was a merchant's mansion. There is no lift.
It makes sense to use paid parking at the hotel (200 rubles per day), because there are few parking lots around, and they are either paid or clogged.
The rooms are clean, although the shower was not cleaned very carefully, and the drain was long overdue, the water lingered. There is free Wi-Fi, but it is clumsy, on the second day the authorization page stopped appearing, the hotel staff did nothing to help. They forgot to bring water to the room from time to time, had to be reminded.
On weekends, the hotel restaurant hosts private events, and due to poor soundproofing, it is (at least) impossible to sleep in the rooms on the second floor. We were so "lucky" for two nights in a row, until one in the morning there was a party, and at two in the morning there was noisy dragging of furniture from the second floor to the first.
Breakfast is mediocre, only tasty porridge, pastries are generally stale all the time. I do not recommend lunch or dinner in the hotel restaurant, the food is tasteless. At the bar, once they lost the paid bill, for a long time they tried to convince us that we had not paid. In general, the problem, of course, is in the staff and their attitude to their work, it is in this direction that the "Governor" needs to improve.

Rested with my husband in the hotel "Gubernator" February 7-8.2014. I liked everything very much. New hotel, everything is very clean, stylishly done. You can’t find fault with the work of the staff: everyone is polite, they will explain everything in detail and tell you! Suggested some good places to have dinner and take a walk.

Thank you) The hotel is in the heart of the city - easy and convenient to get to. I liked the room: beautiful design, warm, windows on the main street of the city. The room has everything you need: bathrobes, towels, gels, shampoos, dental kits and much more. Breakfast is delicious and very filling! In general, we will stop again, since there are no analogues in Tver and never have been.
