Initially, my husband and I chose a quiet place "not quite" in our region and a "not warm" sea. The choice fell first on Jurmala, but then there were problems with the visa (due to the fault of the agent), and I had to quickly change direction to the Kaliningrad region. We stopped at Zelenogradsk: not far from the railway station in Kaliningrad and a comfortable descent to the sea (compared to Svetlogorsk). I booked the hotel via Bookingcom (Booking. com) and got into the discount promotion. After confirmation from the hotel, we bought tickets and waited for the "go-ahead" from Kaliningrad to receive the so-called simplified transit document (UTD), since the train crossed the borders with Belarus and Lithuania (the flight was impossible). So, first we bought train tickets to Moscow, then to 147, which comes to Kaliningrad in the evening.
+ hotel location: close to the sea and the city center (market, bus and railway station, shops). The friendliness of the staff: administrators Veronika and Evgenia, meeting at the Kaliningrad railway station (free transfer), attentiveness of the hotel manager E. V. Volodarskaya and the owner of the hotel, whom we met on the day of departure. We originally wanted to choose a mini-hotel. Administrators asked about breakfast (optional). The promenade is quite calm (although not luxury))) We ourselves went to the Curonian Spit (dancing forest (just, as my husband said - "sick trees"; dunes, almost singing), Svetlogorsk (the promenade and the city itself are more "resort", but the passage to the beach from our hotel is much nicer and more comfortable, not cool), Yantarny (the beach there is just lovely, typically southern sand and calm sea). We had a quiet family vacation with relaxation on the coast of the harsh Baltic. In principle, what we wanted You can look at the cons, but you shouldn’t focus on this (the variety of breakfasts depends on the administrator; I had to remind about cleaning; tap water with some kind of smell; super small territory of the hotel). The hotel is located in the so-called historical zone of the city of Zelenogradsk. And it is this part that I would like to call Kranz: the houses are old, interesting buildings. You can walk along the streets, but the city simply won’t be enough for a long time, since it is small. Walking along the streets, we found a temple in the church building (interesting architecture and good desirable father) and a new, but small church. We found a city pond with a fountain and bridges (a beautiful and peaceful place to relax). It is curious, but the city is practically clean not because of the abundance of janitors (seen only a couple of times), but from the inhabitants themselves. We found both the harsh Baltic (we dressed warmer), and the sunny one, when there was practically no free space on the beach. In general, we liked it. Rest is good, no complaints.
